New tools.
Better questions.
Human decisions.

This is a curated snapshot of official announcements, not a live news feed. Availability can differ by market, account and plan. The practical takeaways below are editorial recommendations.

16 September: OpenAI expands its advertising tools

OpenAI announced new AI creative features for Ads Manager and integrations with HubSpot and Shopify. It is also testing Sponsored Agents: separate, labelled conversations that people can choose to enter after clicking an ad. That test is limited to selected US advertisers.

What this means for a business: conversational advertising gives customers another place to ask questions. Start by making your product details and offer clear. Check regional eligibility before budgeting for a new channel; the announcement does not establish universal availability in India.

10 August: Google adds AI insights and reporting

Google announced homepage summaries in Analytics, personalised insights in Ads, and prompt-based visual reporting in Google Ads, with Analytics reporting described as coming soon. Some capabilities are beta features for English-language accounts.

My takeaway: faster reporting is useful only when the underlying measurement is sound. Check conversion definitions and data quality, then use the summaries to identify questions worth investigating. An AI explanation is a starting point for analysis, not proof of what caused a change.

9 July: Google announces more AI ad transparency

Google introduced a “How this ad was made” section in My Ad Center to indicate AI-created or AI-edited advertising. It described automatic disclosures for its own generative tools and a control for advertisers using external tools.

My takeaway: keep a record of how creative assets were produced and review the available disclosure controls. Make sure edited visuals still represent what a customer will actually receive.

What should you do this week?

  1. Check whether your main enquiry or purchase action is measured correctly.
  2. List the questions customers ask before buying and improve the relevant website pages.
  3. Try one AI-assisted workflow on a small, reviewable task.
  4. Compare the time saved and output quality before expanding it.
